Waalre is a municipality and a town located in the province of Noord-Brabant in the south of the Netherlands and has a population of 17.862 people (January 1^st 2026)
Waalre was created when the independent municipalities of Aalst and Waalre were consolidated in 1923.

Sightseeing:

• Loon (Dutch) is a historic hamlet a few hundred meters south of the village of Waalre. The hamlet is formed by a triangular lawn planted with oaks around which a number of Kempen long-gabled farms are grouped.
• Oude Sint-Willibrorduskerk which dates back to 712 AD and where each year the Second World War Provincial Remembrance Day is held.
• An important event is the annual regional popfestival Kempenerpop.
• Lake Meeris, home of the mysterious Knerts (Knertius Brabantschius)

High Technology city Eindhoven is famous for :

• founding city of Philips and DAF Trucks.
• High Tech Campus housing international research for Philips, NXP semiconductors, Atos Origin and now also IBM, Shimano and Intel .
• PSV Eindhoven is the major football (soccer) club in the city. Playing in the Philips Stadion it is the dominant club in the Dutch highest league. FC Eindhoven the second club of Eindhoven (Dutch league champions in 1954) is currently not doing that well.

Valkenswaard is a municipality located in the province of Noord-Brabant in the south of the Netherlands and has a population of 31.912 people (January 1^st 2026)

The name Valkenswaard stems from its history of falconers, who caught wild falcons there; "valk" is Dutch for "falcon". It lay on a route where falcons migrated south each year. The falconry started in the 16^th century and the town was allmost completely dependant on it. In the 17^th, 18^th, and 19^th centuries, Valkenswaardian falconers were active at many European courts, in which falconing was a beloved pastime.

Sightseeing:

• Valkerij en sigarenmuseum The Falconry and Cigar-makers Museum consists of two collections. The Falconry Museum gives an impression of falconry in the period from 1650 until today. The Cigar-makers Museum depicts the development of the making of cigars in Valkenswaard from 1865 to its downfall.
• Dutch Museum of Lithography "From stone to chip". The museum shows all kinds of lithographic prints, but also the techniques that made it possible.
• Natuurgebied de Malpie, an extensive heath walking and cycling area, south of Valkenswaard.
• BloemenCorso Valkenswaard An important event is the annual regional flower parade. The event originated from, and still revolves around, commemorating the liberation in september 1944 and celebrating freedom.
