ICT-Hotlist TopicHackHelpdesk.nlWhat is HackHelpdesk.nl?On the Dutch website HackHelpdesk.nl, entrepreneurs who suspect they are victim of cybercrime can quickly find information about the steps they can take to limit or prevent any damage. So, First aid in the event of a hack. One in five entrepreneurs is confronted with cybercrime. This number is even higher among SME entrepreneurs and self-employed persons. Victims can suffer major consequences: important documents are lost, large amounts of money are written off from the account or confidential and personal data are leaked. In some cases, even the entire business operations of an entrepreneur can be shut down. HackHelpdesk.nl uses the Cyberwijzer, an AI-driven chatbot. The Cyberwijzer is trained on a controlled dataset and is provided with weekly updates. This means that the chatbot is familiar with the latest developments in the field of cybercrime and cybersecurity and with a large number of CVE reports. Website visitors who prefer not to chat with Cyberwijzer can still quickly find information relevant to them through the website's simple menu. They select the problem description that best matches their acute need for help and thus arrive at the type of cybercrime with steps to prevent (worse) victimization. The fact that the broader security domain sees HackHelpdesk.nl as added value became apparent during the SBO congress Undermining & Organized Crime. A professional jury nominated HackHelpdesk.nl for the SBO Innovation Undermining Award 2024, partly due to the excellent collaboration between the parties and the innovative nature of Cyberwijzer. The attendees chose HackHelpdesk.nl as the winner of the Award during the conference. The HackHelpdesk is an initiative of Platform Veilig Ondernemen (PVO). Center for Crime Prevention and Safety (the CCV), The National Police, VNO-NCW, MKB-Nederland and the Digital Trust Center (DTC) support the HackHelpdesk.
